"The sea accepts a hundred rivers — and that is why it is vast."
This old Chinese proverb means that the sea is vast precisely because it accepts a hundred — countless — rivers. Japan and China share more than two thousand years of exchange across the sea between them, and in recent years, business expansion, local employment, travel and study abroad have all been growing at the grassroots level.
Every person we meet through running HAINA feels like one of those rivers, each flowing in its own distinct way. Like the sea that grows vast by accepting countless branching rivers, we wanted to build a company that accepts people of different personalities and cultures, understands them, and creates real connection between people.
HAINA wants to grow in keeping with this idea of "the sea accepting a hundred rivers" — a reach that extends beyond Japan and China, toward embracing people across the world and working toward mutual understanding. That is the wish carried in our name.
